At All Ages All Stages Band, we believe music should feel like belonging.
For many people, joining a band can feel intimidating — too fast, too loud, too public, too overwhelming. Some students live far from rehearsal spaces. Some struggle with anxiety. Some worry they’re “not good enough yet.” Too often, the joy of playing together is reserved for those who feel confident enough to step into the room.
We built All Ages All Stages Band to change that.
Here, beginners and advanced musicians share the same virtual stage — each at a level that meets them where they are. Backing tracks provide structure and comfort. Multiple skill tiers allow students to grow at their own pace. No one is rushed. No one is left behind. No one has to perform before they’re ready. Whether someone is 8 or 80, shy or bold, just starting or returning after years away, they can press play and become part of something bigger than themselves.
Because everyone deserves a place in the music.
And when we remove the barriers — transportation, pressure, comparison — what remains is confidence, connection, and the simple, powerful joy of playing together.
Most ensemble programs organize groups based on skill level, but in the All Ages All Stages Band, all levels can play in the same ensemble together.
This is possible because our music is designed with four progressive difficulty levels to choose from that can be performed at the same time.
Siblings, friends and family at different skill levels can be in a band together!
Each piece includes professionally produced backing tracks, so you can rehearse as many times as you like, gaining confidence before performing live with others.
Students can choose to use backing tracks during rehearsals until they feel comfortable enough to play live.
This flexible approach removes the pressure of needing to “get it right” in real time—an obstacle that can create anxiety for many learners—while still fostering the joy and connection of ensemble playing.
Social opportunities to share, collaborate and listen to each other are built into each 75 minute rehearsal session. Students are invited to share their favorite musicians, foods, colors and hobbies.
Every band will collectively come up with their own band name and every student will choose or be assigned a stage name.
There is never any pressure to share, only encouragement.
Experience playing in a band from the comfort of your home, or wherever you choose to access the internet with your instrument, enthusiasm and a growth mindset.
Nothing beats the convenience of not having to drive, uber, take the bus or subway to band practice.
Need a bathroom or water break? Take one, whenever you need to without interrupting class progress. Jump back in whenever you are ready.
Playing music with others requires the use of many valuable life skills.
We celebrate the struggle as much as the success.
