All Ages All Stages Band founder Kelly Roberge is a professional saxophonist and music educator with over 25 years of performance experience and more than two decades of teaching. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music in Jazz Studies from the New England Conservatory, training that continues to inform both his artistry and teaching philosophy.

As a performer, Kelly has played in a theatrical jazz quartet, an ’80s pop sax duo, a solo quartet, big bands, countless weddings and events. He is especially passionate about creative music and improvisation — the kind of playing that invites connection, risk-taking, and expression.

For 11 years, Kelly taught general music, movement & music and band in the public school system, while also maintaining a 15 year career as a private lesson instructor. Through his work with students of all ages, he began noticing a common challenge: music moves in real time. Many students are taught to stop and fix mistakes, but ensemble playing requires you to keep going — and that can feel overwhelming. For some learners, this disconnect becomes a barrier.

As someone who understands social anxiety personally, Kelly envisioned a different kind of ensemble experience — one rooted in safety, flexibility, and confidence-building. He founded All Ages All Stages Band to create a no-fear environment where students can choose their level of difficulty and play along with backing tracks until they feel ready to step forward

Kelly is known as a passionate, inviting, and empathetic teacher who brings humor, encouragement, and thoughtful structure to every learning space. His mission is simple: to provide a controlled, supportive environment where musicians can focus on the joy of playing, build meaningful connections, and grow at their own pace.

Kelly also enjoys flying flight simulators, meteorology, hiking and spending time with his wife, friends and family.
